Senior Software Engineer – Applied AI
Role overview
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI who productionizes AI capabilities into products: agents, tool use / MCP-style integrations, retrieval, evals, and reliable APIs that backend and frontend can consume.
You sit between our AI platform work and the application spine, not pure research, not prompt-only tinkering.
What you will do
- Build and harden LLM features in production (latency, cost, safety, observability).
- Design retrieval, tool/agent orchestration, and evaluation loops with clear product metrics.
- Ship interfaces (APIs / MCP tools / services) that backend and product engineers can rely on.
- Partner with Lead/Senior Backend Engineers so AI features are first-class parts of the product, not side experiments.
- Use strong software engineering discipline: tests, versioning, reviews, rollout.
Requirements
- 4+ years software engineering; 2+ years shipping LLM or ML features in production.
- Strong Python; comfort with modern LLM APIs and orchestration patterns.
- Ability to collaborate on backend APIs and data models.
- Clear thinking about evals, failure modes, and user-visible quality.
Preferences
- Experience with RAG, agents, tool calling, or MCP.
- Knowledge graphs or structured retrieval.
- Startup product experience.
